Nudes in Romanian painting

Abstract

Romfilatelia puts into circulation on  February 15th, 2019  the postage stamp issue entitled Nudes in Romanian painting, which illustrates the most appreciated works of this kind belonging to the painter Nicolae Grigorescu. The Romanian painting dates from the late 19th century through Gh. Asachi, Ion Negulici, C. Daniel Rosenthal, C. Lecca, Mişu Popp, G. Tattarescu şi Theodor Aman, who prepared the ground for N. Grigorescu’s affirmation. For the value of the paintings, N. Grigorescu was the first plastic artist to become a member of the Romanian Academy.
