Abstract

Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz (1646–1716) was a prominent German philosopher, mathematician, and librarian whose innovative ideas profoundly influenced the development of libraries and information theory. He promoted libraries as "workshops of wisdom" and anticipated fundamental concepts such as the binary number system. This article examines his vision of knowledge and his essential contributions to the field of librarianship.
