Medical Scientific Library – library and economic center for medical libraries in the Republic of Moldova: the importance and opportunity of this fact

Abstract

The paper presents the work of Library Science Center at the Scientific Medical Library of State University of Medicine and Pharmacy „Nicolae Testemitanu”. Since 1977 the Library of Medicine Institute in Chisinau is a Library Science Center for college libraries of medicine in the country. It directs their activities, provides methodological assistance and contribute to complete their collections with medical publications of employees of the University. In 2005, the library received the status of Departmental Library Science Center for medical libraries. In last years (2012-2013) have been performed a number of methodological support activities: methodical consultations, Specialist Days, professional workshops, assistance visits.
