Abstract

This article deals with William Golding’s „Extraordinary Ambassador”. In his parable english writer harmonically combines genre structures of fairy tale, dystopia and social satire. The main characters of the Roman Emperor, librarian Fonokl and his sister are linked with literary reasons of culture, history, beauty and ugliness. Dialogue between two very smart people as well as the history Fonokl’s inventions is exciting and may be instructive for modern librarians.
