Saint Francis Monument from Galați

Abstract

The author relates the commemoration of the 700th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi in 1926. Several events were organized worldwide on this occasion. Sir R. Storrs Governor of Jerusalem, during the event decided that one of the streets of Jerusalem will carry his name. In Romania was published a work, The Life of St. Francisc of Assisi”. In Galati was erected a monument IN HONOR of St. Francisc, the initiative of this event belongs to Vicar Uldelico Cipollone.
