The novel „Moromeţii” („The Moromete Family”) by Marin Preda in the USARB Scientific Library Collection

Abstract

This article is a tribute to the work of Marin Preda „Morometii”(„The Moromete Family”, 65 years since publication). In the reading room no. 2 Philological Sciences and Mediatequie were organized exhibitions with several editions of the novel on this occasion. From the volumes on display we find out about Ilie Moromete, the hero of the novel and his peasant dignity crushed by deep changes brought about by capitalism, industrialization, „the obsessive decade” of the 1950s and finally communism.
