Abstract

The study aims to rediscover history through the work „The Domain of Ion Ghica from Ghergani” written by Ruxanda Beldiman. Also, the scientific paper aims to determine the importance of the personality of Ion Ghica, his studies, his activity as an economist, mathematician, writer, pedagogue, diplomat and politician. His masterpiece as a writer is considered the work "Letters addressed to Vasile Alecsandri". Moreove, the author informs the readers about the mansion from Ghergani, which was rebuilt in 1869-1888, after the sketches and vision of Ion Ghica, by the architects Dimitrie Berindei (1831-1884) and then by George Mandrea (1855-1916).
