The paper presents a solution for retrieving history. Narcis Dorin Ion is an exceptional cultural personality, who deserves to be known for his work in promoting Romanian culture. The author guides us among some works of Narcis Dorin Ion: the Bran Castle, Residence of Queen Maria and Princess Ileana, the museum and its collections, elites and residential architecture in the Romanian Lands (XIX-XX centuries) (work for which he received the title of doctor and the „George Oprescu” award of the Romanian Academy); Carol II of Romania, the portrait of a king, palaces in Bucharest; the arts of fire; The furniture collection of the Peles National Museum; The Royal Family and the Great Union; MARY of ROMANIA, the portrait of a great queen; King CAROL I, the Founder of Modern Romania, The testimony of a lonely historian. The 11 works elaborated with a lot of talent and ability by Narcis Dorin Ion are completed by other 10 works, only mentioned by the undersigned in a side note. In fact, Narcis Dorin Ion managed to revive a lost world and his contribution is mportant to the process of knowing some aspects of Romanian civilization.
