The study describes V. A. Urechia's concerns regarding the Moldavian chronicler Miron Costin (1633-1691), the perseverance with which he sought to discover all the works written by the great chronicler, the history and stages of the conception and erection of the statue of Miron Costin by Wladimir Hegel, a Polish sculptor, a work catalogued by the painter Nicolae Tonizta as "The best statue that was erected on the land of Wallachia".
