The article contains information about the letter sent from Florence on 5 January 1888, addressed to Iacob Negruzzi by Angelo de Gubernatis (1840-1913), author of the International dictionary of contemporary writers. The author of the dictionary askd Iacob Negruzzi to give addresses of important writers in Romania. Known as a first person in latin space, Italian university professor, writer, he was concerned at that time to reprint “Dizionario biografico degli scritori contemporanei”, published for the first time in the period 1879-1880. Iacob C. Negruzzi put at the disposal of Angelo Gubernatis names of 20 writers, who at that time were the most representative of the Romanian cultural space.
